Haven't had time for personal work with the upcoming move. So old stuff will have to be satisfactory for now.

My friend and I decided to put together a Scrabble® tournament slash BBQ and of course this means we need a flyer to let everyone know what the heck is up. So, in my spare work time I put this little number together. The colors and grid were inspired by the look of a Scrabble® board. There are also some fun bits in there to create texture.

This was inspired by my desire for a warm, sunny, breezy Tuesday afternoon just laying in the grass and admiring the patterns the clouds create in the sky. I can remember being a kid and racing the other children to pick dandelions in the school yard during P.E. We'd all hold the stems tightly as we blew the seeds into the wind. I'd watch as a gust of wind would take them far away until they couldn't be seen anymore. I always wondered where they landed, and if they were happy there or if I'd just ruined their short lives.

Stayed at a beach house with some friends over Memorial Day weekend. The first morning we were there I got up and went to the beach before anyone else so that I could breathe in the salty fresh air alone. It was amazing, it was if I'd never seen the morning sun before. The clouds were perfect, only allowing the sun to peek out at their discretion. And the amount of seaweed that was brought in overnight was awesome.

Messing around with some stippling, it was quite relaxing to just make dots in a random sort of way.

The flower image came from the Smashing Texture Contest and was taken by Ljubica Rapaic.

The kind of swirly stuff in the back is apparently what it looks like when you mix oil and dammar glaze together. According to Daniel Belchí Gabarrón, that is. I found it over at the Smashing Texture Contest, and am quite impressed by his whole collection. The title is the title of the upcoming Lindstrøm album. I just like the way it sounds. I'm not too familiar with this guy's work, but I listened to one song (The Long Way Home (Prins Thomas Edit)) they have up over at The Fader and I approve.

This one began one day while bored at work, I thought it would be interesting try and write a short story/poem with each line from a different person. I asked each of my friends to provide one sentence that could be about anything and in any tone they desired. I took the results and put them together here. This is going to be an ongoing project until I feel like the work is complete.

I want to go on a hike through a colorful forest, and come to a clearing where I can see straight up to the blue and white sky. I want to close my eyes and feel the breeze blow through my hair. I want to breathe deeply and feel the fresh forest air flow through my lungs. I want too much.

vi•brant: pulsating with vigor and energy; vigorous; energetic; vital; exciting; stimulating; lively
take•o•ver: the act of seizing, appropriating, or arrogating authority, control, management, etc.
Start something.

This one is funky and has a muted feel to it (Except the laser beams, of course. How do you mute laser beams?). Sort of looks like the laser beam is directed at an octopus.

Life equals a lot of different things to a lot of different people. There is no right answer.
